EXAMINATIONS AND PROMOTIONS


The school has implemented the proposal of CBSE. There will be two semester examinations, one in September/October and the second in February/March. Continuous comprehensive evaluation is done and the results are intimated to the parents. Scholastic and co-scholastic performance will be considered for promotion and negligence in any subject will also be a cause for detention in the class.

Application indicating valid reason for absence from any examination must be submitted in advance to the Principal and get sanctioned. Absence on any ground is not condoned. The result of the examination announced, is final and will not be reconsidered. Pupils absent from any examination will not be re-examined and will not get any marks in that subject. Promotions will be based on the overall average performance of the year. The yearly record of work consists of the day-to-day written work, including composition, home-work and daily lessons and an average performance in scholastic area.

A student who uses unfair means and/or receives or gives assistance in any form during tests will be given zero in the subject and a warning letter. Repetition of the same will result in dismissal of the student. Astudent who repeats the same class twice will not be allowed to continue for the third year.

RULES AND REGULATIONS


Attendance in the morning assembly is compulsory. Students must maintain attitude of reverence and devotion during the prayer and do nothing that may be detrimental to the devotional and moral tone of the assembly.

  • • Student must not remain in the class room after school hours. If found, the school authority will take disciplinary action against him/her.
  • • A pupil who is found to be irregular in his/her attendance without bonafide reasons or without any explanation from the guardian will face serious consequences and withdrawal notice may be issued.
  • • CBSE has given clear instruction that students must not bring mobile phones/I-Pods/Electronic goods to school. Please note that if any student is found carrying these items inside the school premises, during school hours, they will be confiscated and will not be returned. see if any notice/invitation has been issued.
  • • Students will be penalised if found to be carrying crackers or explosives.
  • • A fine will be imposed if a student is found using abusive language/objectionable words / slangs.
  • • Pupils should come to school in neat and clean prescribed uniforms (properly stitched & ironed) and polished shoes.
  • • Boys must have their hair cut regularly and shave when required. Colouring of hair is not allowed. The hair must remain decently cut.
  • • Students who bring bicycles to the school should keep them properly locked at the place provided for bicycles and the school is not responsible for any loss or theft.
  • • No student is allowed to drive motorised vehicles for coming to school. In case the rule is violated, parents/guardians may be requested to withdraw their wards.
  • • While dropping wards at the school gate, parents/guardians are requested to check the school notice board/confirm from the gate keeper regarding any exigencies like excess rain, strike etc. that might lead to the school being closed for that particular day. The school authorities will not be responsible for any untoward circumstances arising from such emergency like situations.
  • • Pupils are advised to bring their tiffin from home. No one other than parents can deposit tiffin at the gate, if necessary. • Students are strictly forbidden to buy any kind of food from the vendors outside the school premises. • No student will be allowed to leave the school premises or go home during tiffin break. • Any student found violating these clauses, will be taken to task and serious disciplinary action will be taken.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS


The school believes in discipline and firmness. Slackness, disobedience and disregard of rules will not be tolerated and any work or action likely to lower the image of the school is regarded as a breach of the school discipline.

1. Parents must get a prior appointment for meeting Principal/ Vice Principal/Incharge/Teacher through website or school diary.
2. Parents must carry their original photo ID proof along with the parent’s copy of the diary. It must be shown to the security guard at the gate. It is mandatory for safety and security.

3. School has discretion on access/entry of a visitor in campus.

4. The parents/guardians are earnestly requested to extend their full co-operation to the school authorities :

i) By advising their wards to follow the school rules strictly.
ii) By taking active interest in the progress of their wards.
iii) By contacting the Principal or class-teacher by prior appointment in case of their wards facing difficulties in their studies.
iv) By providing their wards with tiffin and discouraging them from having food from outside vendors.
v) By clearing all dues payable to the school within the stipulated time.
vi) By ensuring that their wards do not possess any contagious disease while attending the school.
vii) By ensuring that their wards do not loiter on the roads, near the school gate after school hours. This may cause mishaps.
viii) By ensuring that their wards do not while away time aimlessly after returning home from school.
ix) By creating a very congenial atmosphere at home to enable their wards to develop themselves mentally, morally and socially.
• The Guardians / Parents are forbidden to bring or distribute cakes and savouries during their wards' birthdays or on any special occasion.
• They are required to inform the school if there is any change in their addresses or telephone numbers.
• Leave for ½ day should not be asked for security reasons. In emergency, written permission must be taken from the Principal through the class teacher and the bus in-charge.
• Children, when sick, should not be sent to school to attend classes. Such children will be allowed to appear in the test/exam with prior permission only.
• Attention of parents is drawn to the fact that criticism of the teacher or school in the presence of their children should be scrupulously avoided because it causes the students to lose respect for their teachers with the consequent failure to learn from them. It further retards their progress.
• Parents are advised to grant pocket money very judiciously to the students. The pocket money should not exceed rupees ten everyday.
• Should there be any legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal at once or write in a separate letter addressed to him. He will look into the matter personally.
• Any communication made by parents/guardians should be addressed to the Principal and not to the class teachers and all correspondence from the school to the parents must be through the Principal.
• The report card is an important document and should be kept safely. If the report card is lost, a replacement will be made on payment of Rs. 100/-.
• The name, admission number, class, section and house of the students should clearly be marked on their belongings.
• Parents are requested to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their children's progress by paying attention to their regularity, punctuality and discipline and by taking interest in their homework. They should check the diary everyday and note the homework and other instructions in the diary. In case of small children, the parents are advised to check the bag of their wards to • Care must be taken of all school property and any damage caused by a student will be made good by the student concerned. In addition to it, a fine will be imposed for the offence.
• It is not advisable to bring to school valuable articles like expensive watches, fountain pens, transistor radios, tape recorders, calculators, mobile phones and jewellery. In case of any loss of valuables or other articles, the school authorities will try their best to trace these but shall not undertake any responsibility for the loss.
• Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the school campus. If a student is found to be possessing one, it would be seized and would certainly not be given back to the student. It would be given ONLYto the parents on producing relevant/ ID proof.
• Possession of a mobile phone shall be considered a serious offence and violation of discipline in the eye of the school management. Parents / Guardians are requested to cooperate with the school management in this regard.
• The students should be recognized not only by their School Uniform but also by their good conduct and behaviour as students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
• Please sign the occasional reports which the management, Principal, Vice Principal or teachers make in the calendar/diary.
• Parents are requested to see the website regarding holidays, test schedule, Model Test paper and Open Day for parents.

LEAVE RULES


  • Every student must have at least 85% attendance to appear in any of the semester examinations. Those who fail to fulfill this criterion for any terminal will be debarred from that terminal examination and marked zero for the same in the mark sheet. Request from the defaulters in this regard will not be entertained. 85% attendance criterion is applicable to each of the two semesters separately. Benefits of having more attendance for a particular semester will not be transferred to the other, however, prize for 100% attendance will be given on the basis of the total attendance in an academic year.
  • In case a student remains absent for four consecutive days without permission after a long vacation or in the beginning of the session, his/her name will be struck off the school rolls. For the rest of the session, absence for six consecutive days, without prior permission, will lead to the name of the student being struck off the rolls. Re-admission will be purely at the discretion of the Principal and that too with full admission fee. A fine will be charged for every unexplained absence of a student from the school.
  • A student who is absent for 15 days continuously without informing the school will be considered as having left the school and his/her name will be struck off the rolls. Re-admission will be permitted only after paying the full dues including the re-admission fees if vacancy still exists.
  • All students are expected to join the school on the notified date at the beginning of the school term. A fine of Rs.50/- is imposed for absence on the reopening date unless the Principal is informed before the end of the term which officially ends after the flag assembly on the last day. Parents and guardians will appreciate that absence during a term is not in the best interest of the students. They are asked not to apply for leave, if it is possibly to be avoided. Leave may be granted to the students only on the following grounds:
    • In case of serious illness or death of a very near relative.
    • For the condolence visits if the student is the only male member of the family and his presence is essential according to the custom.
    • To attend the marriage of his/her own brother, sister and brother/sister of either parent.
    • To perform the Tika ceremony of his sister, if he is the eldest brother in the family.

  • RULES CONCERNING ABSENCE DURING ILLNESS:


    • 1. Every absence (due to sickness or otherwise) must be entered briefly in non-attendance and leave record pages given in the diary and signed by parents or guardians.
    • 2. Parents are requested to send a leave application in the diary, if the student has been absent.
    • 3. A student suffering from any contagious or infectious disease is not allowed to attend school till he/she has fully recovered. On return to school, a medical certificate duly signed by a registered medical practitioner is to be submitted to the office.
    • 4. Quarantine period recommended for-
      • a. Chicken Pox- 3 Weeks
      • b. Measles – 2 weeks
      • c. Mumps – 2 weeks
      • d. Conjunctivitis – 1 week
      • e. Typhoid – 3 weeks
      • f. Jaundice (Hepatitis) – Depends on the recovery.
      • Please ensure that you adhere to the quarantine period strictly.

    DISMISSAL/SUSPENSION


    The management reserves the right to send away from the school any student whose conduct is against the good moral tone of the school. The management’s decision regarding the dismissal of student is final and parents/guardians who are applying for their ward’s admission to school are understood to have accepted this condition. The management also reserves the right to suspend a student from attending the school and to determine the period of suspension. The degree of damage caused or gravity of the incident will be taken into consideration when making the final decision.

    BUS RULESS


  • 1. Bus Fee will be charged for 12 months.
  • 2. The bus pass must be carried whenever the school bus is used and shown on demand to the conductor/monitor/Incharge.
  • 3. An unauthorized traveler if caught even for a day will be penalized, according to the decision of Bus-incharge/Principal/Management.
  • 4. In disciplined behavior in the school bus will make the pupils ineligible to avail bus facility and face disciplinary action.
  • 5. Damage to any bus property will be recovered from the concerned students.
  • 6. Bus fare will be revised whenever cost of petroleum products are increased or when there is a need felt by the management.
  • 7. Change of bus Stop is to be reported to the Bus-In charge/manager/Principal, before in writing and necessary change to be intimated in writing to the office/other concerned.
  • 8. A student availing bus facility in June/July or even later will have to pay the bus fee for all the 12 months of the year.
  • 9. Provision and mode of bus facility is totally dependent upon the discretion of the school.
  • LIBRARY RULES


  • 1. All students of Std. VI-XII may borrow books from library on becoming members.
  • 2. Strict silence shall be observed in the library.
  • 3. Students who keep books longer than the time permitted will be Rs.5/- per day per book.
  • 4. Books in the reference section may not be taken out of the library.
  • 5. Never write in the library book, or tear anything out of it. Take care of it.
  • 6. The attention of the librarian should be drawn to damage of books about to be borrowed.
  • 7. Each pupil is entitled to take out on loan one book at a time while each teacher is entitled to take out two books at a time and keep the same for seven days. Periodicals, publications, dictionaries, guides and other costly reference books shall not be lent out.
  • 8. Issue of books may at any time suspended by order of Principal/librarian.
  • 9. All books from the library must be returned two weeks before semester examinations. Transfer Certificate will not be issued unless a clearance certificate is obtained from the Librarian.
  • 10. Library will be functioning during vacations and Saturdays. Dates and timings will be displayed on the library notice board.

    Chinmaya Vidyalaya is now completely digitized. We accept all fees through online mode only. Any other mode of fee payment will not be entertained.
    Method A(Through School's website www.chinmayabokaro.org )
    Step 1 : Log on to www.chinmayabokaro.org.
    Step 2 : Click on STUDENT/PARENT DESK which is on the top blue ribbon of home page
    Step 3 : Scroll down and click on Online Fee link (Red in colour)
    Step 4 : Select the payment option from "Pay through SBI Collect" or "Pay through Indian Bank".
    IF "PAY THROUGH SBI COLLECT" IS SELECTED
    Step 4A : In "State of Corporate/institution" dialogue Box, select 'Jharkhand' and from "Type of corporate/ Institution". Select 'Educational Institutions'.
    Step 4B : Click on "Go" Button.
    Step 4C : On clicking 'Go' button, the next page appears On this page, select name of the Educational Institution as 'CCMT A/C CHIN MAYAVIDYALAYA'.
    Step 4D : Click on "Submit" button.
    Step 4E : On clicking "submit" button. You would get a new page asking for 'Payment Category' as "BI MONTHLY SCHOOLFEE".
    Step 4F: After Selecting Payment category, the page will reload and a new dialogue box appears asking for Registration no. Enter Student's Registration no and Click on "Submit" button.
    Step 4G : On the next page, student and fee details would be displayed. Enter name, date of birth mobile number has given in your bank account and the captcha code as displayed in the box. Finally, click on "Submit" button.
    Step 4H : On clicking Submit button from the previous page, you would get a confirmation page. Click on "Confirm" button if everything is correct else press "Cancel" to go back.
    Step 4I : On clicking confirm button, you would get a page from where you can select your payment method. You can pay either by using State Bank's internet banking or ATM Card. You can also pay using internet banking or debit/credit cards of other banks.
    If "Pay through Indian Bank" is selected :

    Step 5A : Flag (Accept) the terms and conditions at the bottom of the page and click on 'Pay Now'.
    Step 5B : Enter Registration Number of student and click or Proceed
    Step 5C : On the next page, student and fee details would be displayed. Verify the details and click on "Pay Fee'' Button.
    Step 5D : On next page, you would get a page from where you car select your payment method. You can pay through any of the following modes: Internet banking/ATM Card/Credit Card/Debit card of any Bank.
    Method B (Through SBI's website www.onlinesbi.com ) Step 1 : Log on to onlinesbi.com
    Step 2 : Click on State Bank Collect option on the blue ribbon or the top of the page.
    Step 3 : Click on "proceed" after accepting terms and conditions
    Step 4 : Follow the step 4A from Method A (above and all steps afterwards)
    Note : Kindly note the fee rules, due date of deposit of fee and other terms from Student's diary after it will be issued

    RULES FOR SCHOOL FEE

    1. School Fee is payable in advance for every two months before 25th of April, June, August, October and December. Last date for payment of fee for Feb-March is 10th February.
    2. If the fee for the months in respect to any student is not paid in full by due date, a late fine of Rs. 50/- per month will be charged.
    3. If the fee is in arrear for consecutive two bi-months, the student's name will be struck off from the rolls and reconsideration will be at the discretion of Principal after payment of all arrears.
    4. Parents must keep the online reference number and date (after making payment of fee) and must quote the same in the table provided in Almanac for ready reference.
    5. Caution Money is payable in full only after settlement of all dues. A student has to study for at least two consecutive years to get the refund of caution money.
    6. The school reserves the right to amend the fee structure as well as the procedure of fee payment at any time during the academic year without assigning any reason. It will be notified in advance through school website or circular.

    DISCIPLINE & STUDENT COUNCIL


    The development of character of an individual can only be obtained through discipline. The self imposed discipline, punctuality, neatness in dress, behaviour, respect, consideration for others and co-operative spirit are required from each student. Repeated misbehaviour of a student causing harm to himself and others will not be tolerated.
    Students without proper uniform on school days are not allowed in the class and will be sent back home.
    Pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct both in and outside the school. Hence, misbehaviour even outside the school premises leads to disciplinary/legal action.
    School logo/name/picture/news items/photo or video / information cannot be used by students and parents without written permission of the school authorities. School reserves the right to take legal action for misuse of school name in addition to disciplinary action.
    The school reserves the right to expel students whose diligence or progress in studies is considered unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority and breaking bounds are always sufficient reasons for immediate expulsion or rustication.
